Glassboro Announces Series of Road Closures for Railroad Crossing Remediation

GLASSBORO - The Borough of Glassboro and the New Jersey Department of Transportation announced road closures for construction work at various railroad crossings.
Closures will start at 7:00 a.m. on the first day at each crossing and should be open by mid-afternoon on the second day.  Prep work will take place the day before the initial date with a Glassboro Police Officer assisting contractors with traffic. Once the roads are closed they will be impassable and detours will be clearly marked.
The following dates and locations are scheduled for road closures:
Tuesday, August 11th to the 12th at Ellis Street by Laurel Avenue
Tuesday, August 18th to Wednesday, the 19th at Route 322 by Girard Road
*322 will be blocked at Bowe Boulevard and North Main Street
Tuesday, August 25th and Wednesday, the 26th at Bowe Boulevard
*Will be closed at Route 322 and Carpenter Street
Tuesday, September 1st and Wednesday, the 2nd at Wilmer Street
*Closed at Sewell Street and Church Street. Local residents will be able to make it up to both sides of the tracks
Tuesday, September 9th and Wednesday, the 10th at University Boulevard
*Closed at Whitney and Oakwood Avenue, and University at Girard Road
