Murphy Writing of Stockton University to Hold Writing and Publishing Retreat

GALLOWAY - Murphy Writing of Stockton University will hold a Writing and Publishing Retreat from Sunday, August 16th to Friday, the 21st at Dexter’s Inn in Sunapee, New Hampshire.
The program is open to community members and Stockton students who are interested in writing fiction, memoir, creative nonfiction, or personal essays. Writers from all over the East Coast, especially New Jersey, are set to attend the retreat.
“Participants attending the Writing and Publishing Retreat will gain confidence and coaching on how to strengthen and publish their writing,” said Peter Murphy, founder of Murphy Writing and an adjunct instructor at Stockton.
Throughout the week, participants will put a work-in-progress through the stages of revision, get feedback on their work, and learn how to effectively navigate the publishing world. By the end of the retreat, they will submit a piece of writing for publication.
"Most writers want to publish their work, but too many stop short of the final goal," Murphy explained. "This workshop will provide valuable support and resources to help writers publish."
The workshop will be led by Amanda Morris, a professor of writing at Kutztown University, who worked as a freelance writer for 11 years.
"As a first-time attendee, I was very impressed,” said Susan Hutchinson of Newtown, Pennsylvania, a participant in one of Morris’ previous workshops. “Amanda was full of energy, interesting, encouraging, and inspiring. I would come back just for her, but I very much enjoyed the whole experience!"
The $745 tuition includes the six-day workshop, lunch, snacks, and 27 hours of professional development credit. Room packages are available for an additional fee. Advance registration is required.
