VIDEO: Vineland Tsunami Heading to Ohio for National Tournament

VINELAND - A tsunami warning will be in effect in Ohio this weekend – the Vineland Tsunami, that is. The local Vineland Pigtail League 12 and under all-star softball team is on quite a roll this summer.
Vineland won a state championship in Manahawkin a few weeks back, and after a strong showing at the regional tournament, the tsunami is off to Columbus for the Midwest All-Sanctioned World Series. About 80 teams from all over the country will take part in the tourney.
“I think it’s more of the fact of having fun and bonding. It’s not about winning the national championship," said Kevin Williams, Manager. "It would take almost a miracle to do that. we’re just looking to have a good time, and play some competitive teams from all around the country.”
Team parents unveiled a new banner that the team will carry in the tournament’s opening ceremony. Vineland has played close to 50 games so far this summer. The Tsunami will cap it off with at least five more in Columbus, Ohio.
“It’s unbelievable," said Emma Barbera, Tsunami infielder. "I never would have expected this to happen. it’s truly amazing.”
