NJ State Trooper Cruiser Struck by Lightning in Middle Twp.

CAPE MAY COUNTY - An isolated storm was the cause of lighting striking two New Jersey State Police cruisers along the Garden State Parkway around 2:15 p.m. today.One cruiser on the Parkway in Middle Township, Cape May, was struck while the officer sat in his patrol car at a construction zone, authorities said via Twitter.

Sources say the trooper walked himself into the medic unit before being taken to the hospital. According to police, the officer “seems to be alright” and is being evaluated at AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center.
