State Grants Charter for Bridgeton Public Charter School

BRIDGETONArea charter school officials announced that the State of New Jersey has officially granted a charter for the Bridgeton Public Charter School. The new school will open for the first day of the 2015-2016 school year on Monday, August 31st. The charter term covers the period from July 1st, 2015 to June 30th, 2019.
“We are very excited to have our official charter,” said Charlotte Gould, President of the Bridgeton Public Charter School Board of Trustees. “We are also pleased to have a full enrollment of 105 students in Kindergarten and First Grade. This school is an important addition to the educational options available in Cumberland County and we look forward to great things ahead.”
While the school is currently at full enrollment, parents are encouraged to apply for admission for their children.
“Enrollment tends to ebb and flow over the summer, so we are still adding names to our waiting list and will accommodate as many children as possible,” said Gould.
The area’s newest charter school plans to add a grade each year for the next four years, with a total enrollment of 285 by 2019.
Bridgeton Public Charter School will be located at 790 East Commerce Avenue. While it’s currently undergoing renovations, plans are to hold a series of open houses once the school opens in the middle of August.
