Cumberland County 4-H to Offer Summer Garden Program

MILLVILLE - The Cumberland County 4-H Youth Development program, in partnership with Cumberland County's Rutgers Masters Gardeners, will offer a summer garden program for children in fifth through eighth grade titled Get Your Green On. The program will take place from Tuesday, August 25th to Thursday, the 27th from 9 a.m. to noon at the 4-H Center.
The garden series will focus on the engineering design process, creative arts, and gardening. Each day of the program will focus on a single project including the construction of containers for gardening, a group pallet project, and creating and launching "seed bombs." Participants will have the chance to experiment with seed and soil mixtures, mold original pots and containers, and work together to create a vertical garden using pallets and other recycled materials.
Children can register each day individually for $20 or all three days for $50. Checks can be made payable to Cumberland County 4-H Advisory Committee.
The 4-H Center is located at 291 Morton Avenue in Deerfield Township.
