The Cape May County 4-H Fair to Have Free Admission

CAPE MAY - The Cape May County 4-H Fair will have free admission each day for visitors to enjoy the programs, exhibits, and entertainment that they are offering.
The annual 4-H fair runs from Thursday, July 16th to Saturday, the 18th at the 4-H fairgrounds. Public hours for the fair are from noon to 9 p.m. on Thursday and Friday, and from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Saturday.
There will be six new inflatable obstacle courses, bounce houses, and water slides. Visitors can explore the Children’s Discovery Farm, an interactive exhibit where young children can experience the sights, sounds, and activities involved in farming during the fair. There will be a hay maze, scarecrow making, a mechanical bull, and educational games geared for young visitors. A photo booth will also be on site, where attendees can strike a pose with miniature horse Willow.
Returning this year, the Fair Farmers’ Market will be operating in an effort to connect residents and visitors to local farmers and their produce.
Matt Hass, of Sawdogs Chainsaw Carvers, will be also be returning to the fairgrounds for demonstrations with an auction of his works on Saturday afternoon.
At 4-H Color Fun Run will take place on Saturday, July 18th at the fairgrounds with the race beginning at 8:30 a.m. Registration begins at 8:00 at the beginning of Betty Jean Lane.
The Children’s Pet Show will take place on Saturday, July 18th, beginning at 9 a.m. on the main stage. All children are invited to bring their favorite dogs, cats, rabbits, and other unusual pets for classes, including costumes and pet-owner look-alikes. Trophies, gift certificates, or ribbons will be awarded in all classes. The entry fee is $1 per class.
Parking is available for free at the Crest Haven Complex. Free shuttle bus service to the fairgrounds will start at noon from the Cape May County Technical School on Thursday and Friday, and at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
Limited premium parking is available at the Atlantic Cape Community College campus, located next door to the fairgrounds, for a suggested $5 donation.
