Cumberland County Positive Youth Development Coalition to Announce Anti Shoplifting Poster Contest Winners

VINELAND - The Cumberland County Positive Youth Development Coalition (CCPYDC) will announce the winners of its anti-shoplifting poster contest on Friday, according to Kathleen Johnston, a graduate assistant the Rand Institute for Public Affairs at Rutgers University.
The ceremony will take place at the Luciano Center at Cumberland County College at 10:30 a.m. The top prize for the poster contest is a bicycle. Runners-up may receive a Kindle Fire or an entertainment package.
The CCPYDC is a community partnership of a wide variety of stakeholders dedicated to reducing risky juvenile behaviors and preventing delinquency. Data collected in the Vineland area indicates that shoplifting is the predominant reason for juvenile arrests. In light of this information, the Vineland Breakout Group of the Coalition launched a student-led campaign to raise awareness about the repercussions of shoplifting and its effects on the community.
The contest was open to all Vineland High School and middle school students.
