VIDEO: St. Mary's School Receives $10,000 Grant

VINELAND - St. Mary's School recently received a $10,000 grant from the Healey Education Foundation.
School Officials say they received the award because they've been following Healey's entrepreneurial spirit and method in their school over the past few years.
"The grant is going to be used specifically for the enhancement of our science lab," said Steven Hogan, Principal of St. Mary's School. "We're going to do major upgrades over the summer. Our science lab is utilized by grades K - 8 and this will certainly help us implement the major STEM education initiatives."
The Healey Education Foundation "sage" grant was given as part of their Catholic School Development Program to invest in the sustainability of catholic elementary and high schools.
"St. Mary's was chosen out of these 56 other schools that applied for the grant because of the good works that we've done and for really modeling what they taught us," said Carol Kirchman, Advancement Director of St. Mary's School. "We aren't just elementary education, this is a ministry. And we want to grow this ministry and sustain it for the future, for future generations to have Catholic education."
