Orchard Valley Middle School Teacher Earns Common Sense Digital Citizenship Certification

WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP – Orchard Valley Middle School Teacher Liz Pitel earned a Common Sense Digital Citizenship Certification recently, through Common Sense Media, Inc.
The certificate will provide Pitel with access to various teaching tools for digital citizenship offered by Common Sense Digital. Additionally, it will support Pitel in her efforts to assist Orchard Valley Middle School students and staff as they learn to adapt to the challenges that technology poses in a classroom environment.
“I commend Mrs. Pitel for taking the initiative to seek this certification,” OVMS Principal Dr. Steve Gregor said. “While it is important to put technology into students’ hands, it is equally as important that teach them to use digital media wisely and allow them to interact through technology in responsible, positive and age-appropriate ways. I applaud Mrs. Pitel for seeking out this resource to assist our students and staff in making smart media choices.”
