VIDEO: Camden Denied $30 Million Grant

CAMDEN - Camden officials have learned that the city was denied a $30 million grant less than two months after being told how the infusion of federal money would pay for new homes, schools, and parks.
The city was one of nine finalists for the money from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. But it lost out to four other cities when the final awards were made last month.
Mayor Dana Redd and U.S. Senator Robert Menendez toured Mount Ephraim Avenue back in August to talk about the city's plans for the money.
Officials say that the city will proceed with resurfacing the road - and will reapply for the grant next year.
