VIDEO: Local Church Practices What They Preach for Homeless Awareness

BRIDGETON - Bethany Grace Community Church hosted its "Box City" event, where participants sleep outside overnight in cardboard boxes and tents to raise awareness for homelessness in the community and to help raise funds for Cumberland County's Code Blue program.
"Where we’re located here is the area that is poorest South of Camden and we have all the problems here," said Pastor Robin Weinstein, Bethany Grace Community Church of Bridgeton. "So this is giving everybody an opportunity to see what it’s like for one night living as a homeless individual here, and of course, we have the luxury of going back to our homes and know this is a temporary situation, but for so many of our homeless residents, this is their way of life."
