VIDEO: The 12th Annual South Jersey Pumpkin Show Starts Tonight

WOODSTOWN - The 12th Annual South Jersey Pumpkin Show kicks off its three-day event tonight at the Salem County Fairgrounds.
“Daily contests, events for the whole family, this a family-oriented festival,” Beau Wright, Organizer with the Pumpkin Show.
Beau, his wife Kathy, and her son Anthony put together the show every year.
“It’s a great day for the families to come out and spend and relax," said Wright. “It's five dollars a car load and it gets you in all weekend. We want to make it affordable for everybody.”
The pumpkin pyramid is in the center of the festivities. Tonight you can expect a Halloween costume parade and live entertainment including a spooky storytelling of “The Legend of Sleepy Hollow.”
You can also find baking contests, a pumpkin toss, and a haunted baby stroller parade on Saturday.
On Sunday, children take the stage trying to dress to impress in hopes of being crowned Little Miss or Mr. Pumpkin Show.
In addition, all weekend long expect visitors can expect to see pony rides, food vendors, carnival rides, arts and crafts, and of course pumpkins. In fact, the show features the largest pumpkin weigh-off in New Jersey.
“We’re the only one in New Jersey that does a weigh-off," said Wright. "I believe there was 12 last year and our winning pumpkin was over 1,100 pounds.”
This Pumpkin show has New Jersey’s largest pumpkin pie and if you guess the weight correctly you’ll win a big prize.
The show is opened Friday from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. and Sunday from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
