American Cancer Societys Breast Cancer Walk to Take Place in Ocean City

OCEAN CITY – The American Cancer Society’s Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk will be held at 9th Street and Boardwalk in Ocean City on Sunday, October 18th . Registration will begin at 8:30 a.m. while the walk will start at 10:00 a.m.
Funds raised during the event will benefit will benefit the American Cancer Society’s breast cancer research. The Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk has raised more than $685 million nationwide since its first walk took place in 1993. The Ocean City and Pennsauken events earned nearly $874,000 for the Society last year.
“Uniting with others at the Making Strides walk gives us power to make a real difference in the fight to end breast cancer,” said Ana Pereira, Community Manager at the American Cancer Society . “At the event, we are able to celebrate survivorship and pay a meaningful tribute to those touched by the disease. Thanks to participants, the American Cancer Society is there for those who are currently dealing with a breast cancer diagnosis, those who may face a diagnosis in the future, and those who may avoid a diagnosis altogether because of education and risk reduction.”
