Two Million Pounds of Food Products Recalled Due to Salmonella Concerns

MILLVILLE - Aspen Foods recently recalled 2 million pounds of food products due to possible salmonella contamination and there may still be more of the affected food in your refrigerators and freezers.
A recall back in July saw 1,978,680 pounds of chicken recalled after reports of illness, including five people who were confirmed ill due to consuming the contaminated meat. However, the recall has been expanded to include more frozen chicken products by Aspen Foods under a variety of names after additional testing was conducted by the Food Safety and Inspection Service.  The products affected by the new recall have “best if used by” dates of August 23rd, 2016 to December 15th, 2016.
