VIDEO: Cumberland County Library Offers 3-D PrintingPosted:
BRIDGETON - The Cumberland County Library is now offering use of their 3-D printer.
The state-of-the-art equipment can make objects within a 6-inch by 6-inch by 6-inch cube. Library patrons can pay for the use of the 3-D printer, but as each job can take several hours. Orders are placed on a first come first served basis.
“Our 3-D printer, I’m sure because of the demand we’re going to have, right now will be mediated also because of the time it takes to print," said Myron Estelle, Library Director. "The time on those, even some of the smallest of items, takes 20 to 30 minutes, so we certainly don’t want to be holding someone up in the library if they’re going to be doing a 3 or 4 or 5 hour project. Believe it or not, even an item like this to go through just because it’s printing layer upon layer upon layer.”
