Millville Chamber of Commerce Announces its Outstanding Citizen Award

MILLVILLE - Steve Harris, a Millville Community Church pastor, devoted husband, and father of three, has been awarded the title of “Outstanding Citizen” by the Millville Chamber of Commerce for the month of October.
Harris, who is committed to promoting community involvement, organized the non–denominational Millville Community Church one year ago. When Harris noticed a homeless problem in Millville, he jumped into action.
Along with Harris, his wife Annamarie, Renee Brecht, and a local pastor named Reverand David Ennis became deeply involved in the organization of Code Blue.
Code Blue consists of two sites which are both located on Broad Street and act as a “warming center” for the homeless, providing hot meals and shelter during colder months.
“Millville has a homeless problem,” Harris said. “We hope to add another warming center site this year.”
Harris will be honored during an October luncheon on Wednesday, October 14th at the New Jersey Motorsports Park at 11:30 a.m. The Chamber of Commerce Southern New Jersey’s Vice President, Christina M. Renna will attend as the guest speaker for the luncheon.
Reservations for the event can be made by calling 856.825.2600 before Monday, October 19th. Tickets are $20 with a reservation and $25 at the door.
Guests are invited to arrive 20 minutes early for networking time, otherwise known as Network20.
