Veterans Memorial School Students Created Personal Tornadoes

VINELAND - Sixth graders at Veterans Memorial School built individual tornado simulators in science class last week.
Using only two 2-liter bottles, a connector, beads, glitter, and water, the students created a vortex. The purpose of the experiment was to study the effects of fluid dynamics. Students offered other examples of vortexes such as when water goes down a drain or whirlpools that form in the ocean.
