Orchard Valley Middle School Teacher Publishes Article in National Journal

WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP – Orchard Valley Middle School sixth grade Mathematics teacher Cathryn Anderson co-wrote an article that was published in the American Institute of Mathematics’ Math Teachers Circle Journal (MT Circular).
Anderson and Joshua A. Taton wrote the piece entitled Hamburgers and High Ceilings: Knowledge for Teaching and Learning. The article discussed the need for teachers continue their education to “stretch both their mathematical and pedagogical muscles.” The article focused on the Philadelphia-area Math Teachers Circle’s research-based approach to building mathematical knowledge for teaching purposes.
