VIDEO: 19 People Become U.S. Citizens at Cumberland County Courthouse Today
BRIDGETON - 19 people from all over South Jersey achieve their goal of U.S. citizenship today at the Cumberland County Courthouse. The Bridgeton High School choir sang patriotic tunes for the new citizens as they proudly accepted their first American flags. Rocelle Tenido was among those nineteen people and she couldn’t hold back her excitement when she reached her goal. “Like I just wanted to scream because it’s been ten years, five years, I’ve been waiting for this," said Tenido. "I feel home.” With the help of Revive South Jersey, Tenido submitted her application for citizenship and was approved. A process she says was difficult but rewarding.
