VIDEO: The Humane Society of Ocean City Named Shelter of the Year

OCEAN CITY -  The Humane Society of Ocean City was recently named “Shelter of the Year” by Purina Pro-Plan at the Show-Dogs Awards Ceremony.
Jenna Callender, who works as the Development Manager at the shelter, attributes their success to the variety of programs they offer, as well as their community outreach.
"It's like the Oscars for the animals, it’s the week for the Westmester Dog Show so it’s a really big deal," said Callender. We were nominated based on everything we do here at the shelter we have our adoption shelter, we have veterinary center, we have animal control, animal rescue pet therapy educational programs we do a whole lot with the community, and we work with other rescues so that’s where we get the award from based on everything that we do its an honor because there’s so many other great shelters around and we’re really thankful that we got it and we really truly live by our motto which is providing the highest level of compassion and service to our animal friends so that’s really why we believe we got the award.” Humane Society of Ocean City.
