VIDEO: Town Holds Ceremonial Groundbreaking for Paulsboro Plaza Renovations

PAULSBORO - An old plaza featuring a vacant Acme in Paulsboro will soon turn into a Save-A-Lot and many other properties thanks to a new redevelopment project of the Paulsboro Plaza.
“The project proposes four phases, two commercial and two residential components," said Gregory Ore, Managing Partner, Lindsey-Ore LLC. "It will house a new supermarket, business support services, and 120 units of senior rental housing.”
Developers say the new supermarket will create jobs for people in the area.
“It’s resulting in rehabilitating what is now a vacant property that will create not only construction jobs, but permanent jobs for the community,” said Maria Mascherin, New Jersey Community Capital.
The mayor of Paulsboro couldn’t be happier to see this project finally happening.
“This right here is very, very, very important to this community of Paulsboro," said Mayor W. Jeffrey Hamilton. "To me, I’ve been on the board with Former Mayor and we’ve been working on this and now it’s a reality.”
Construction will begin early next month on the roof of the old Acme and developers are hoping the Save-A-Lot will be completed by sometime this spring.
