Washington Township High School Boys Soccer Advances to State Semifinals

WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP – The Washington Township High School boys soccer team celebrated a victory at the South Jersey Group IV championship on Friday, November 13th.
The 2 - 0 victory over Eastern included goals in the first half by Mike Roscioli and Marc Murgo. The Minutemen dominated the first half of the game with a 13 - 2 lead against the Vikings. Roscioli scored first in the half, following up on a 50-yard free kick from fullback Will Connelly to head the ball past Eastern goalkeeper Gabe Sable.
"Just trying to go up and make a play," said Mike Roscioli. "To be honest, I don't even know where I put it. I just know it went in."
Washington Township maintained possession of the ball for most of the second half with Matt Tini making four saves to ensure his 17th shutout of the season. This is the team’s second consecutive sectional championship, and their third in the past four seasons under head coach Shane Snyder.
The Minutemen will advance to the state semifinals, where they face the Central Jersey champion in Neptune on Tuesday, November 17th.
