Vineland High School Marching Clan Places Seventh in Competition

VINELAND - The Vineland High School Marching Clan placed seventh out of 13 bands in the Yankee Division "Open Class" Championships on Sunday, November 15th.
Directed by William McDevitt, the band finished with a score of 89.25 during the competition that took place at Kottmeyer Stadium in Downingtown, Pennsylvania. The band also performed the 2015 Field Show, Celestial Journeys, which is written by Gary P. Gilroy. The field show is led by Drum Major Victoria Darr and features representations of the stars and planets in both music and forms on the field.
The honors earned by the Marching Clan this season include:

  • Five First Place wins in the Yankee Division

  • Four First Place overall wins in competition

  • The highest score for a New Jersey band in Cavalcade Competition 2015

  • The first ever Cavalcade of Bands Competition held at Gittone Stadium and hosted by Vineland, bringing 12 New Jersey bands, their friends, and families to Vineland.

The band will give their final performance of the 2015 Field Show on Thursday, November 26th at Wheaton Field in Millville. The VHS Marching Clan will also perform at the Millville Christmas Parade on Friday, November 27th as well as the Vineland Holiday Parade on Saturday, November 28th.
