Grand Marshal Confirmed for SNJ Today Millville Christmas Parade

MILLVILLE - The Greater Millville Chamber of Commerce has announced the name of its Grand Marshal for the 2015 SNJ Today Millville Christmas Parade.
Vietnam Veteran, Dale Wettstein, has been selected to lead the parade, which will takes place on Friday, November 27th at 7:00 p.m. Wettstein served in Vietnam as a photographer in combat intelligence activities with the 525th Military Intelligence Group in 1965. Additionally, Wettstein has participated in the Annual Christmas Parade since his return from Vietnam in 1967 when he joined the Jaycees.
The parade’s 2015 theme, “Home for the Holidays,” honors veterans of the United States who are often away from their families during the holiday season. This year’s festivities will include a float competition with contestants judged on overall appearance, relevance to the theme, and the holiday spirit. Prizes and trophies will be awarded to first, second, and third place floats.
“When Dale advised us that he wasn’t physically up to standing on the cold streets anymore and would not be available to help the night of the parade, it just seemed a natural fit to name him Grand Marshall, given his service to the military and this parade,” said Earl Sherrick , Executive Director of the Chamber.
The parade will begin at High Street and Harrison Avenue and proceed South on High Street to City Hall. Registration will begin at 5:30 p.m. that day and must be completed by 6:30 p.m. The event will be broadcasted live on SNJ Today, television Cumberland County Comcast Channel 22 and on their website at
