VIDEO: Somers Point Veterans Day Celebration

SOMERS POINT - Veterans Day events were celebrated throughout South Jersey on Wednesday, November 12th, as many paused to honor those who fought for our freedom.
In Somers Point, veterans, local dignitaries, and members of the community gathered for a somber celebration in Patriot Park to celebrate the day that is a reminder that our simple thanks can mean a lot to those who have served.
"It's very powerful, it's nice to see the support of the community," said SPC. Nick Pursel, former Medic in the U.S. Army. "It's also emotional, especially for big military families. Both my cousins are actually in [the service]. One was killed in Iraq back in the beginning of the war in '05. I was a medic then. His brother, my only male cousin, is boots on the ground today."
The event was a chance for people to honor those who serve and those who have fallen. Frank LoBiondo, 2nd District Congressman, was also on hand for the ceremony.
