VIDEO: Poll Reveals Voter Turnout and Christie Approval Ratings


CUMBERLAND COUNTY - According to a Quinnipiac University poll released, only 8% of New Jersey's Republicans are backing Governor Chris Christie in his run for President.
In fact, 61% of all of New Jersey's voters said that Christie should drop out of the race.
As for the top contenders in the Garden State, Donald Trump is ahead with Republicans, polling at 31%, while Hillary Clinton is leading the Democrats with 56% support.
However, election experts estimated that the voter turnout across the state hit a record low of 21% last week.
According to the William J. Hughes Center for Public Policy at Stockton, turnout was slightly higher in South Jersey, considering how competitive races were in the 1st and 2nd districts. 25%t of registered voters cast their ballot in those districts.
The majority of those who didn't vote cited a lack of interest in the races as their main reason for staying home on Tuesday.
