Zonta Club Donates Handmade Scarves to OrphansPosted:
VINELAND - Members of the Zonta Club of Cumberland County donated bags of toiletries and handmade scarves as part of their international service project for 2015. The donations were made to Omie’s Home for Children in Yapral, India and a leper colony near the city of Warange called Karunapuram.
Zonta is a an international service organization of women in business and the professions who are dedicated to improving the status of women worldwide.
Club member Dolores Riccio and the Stitchers Club of Hobby Lobby in Millville made 50 hand-crocheted scarves to donate. Additionally, bags of toiletries were assembled and will be shipped to India to area representatives of Omie’s Home. Zonta members and volunteers included Dolly Marciano, Fran Andolaro, Josie Neil, and Betsy PeruZongini.
