Salem County to Host Annual Military Service Medal Ceremony

SALEM COUNTY- Freeholder Dale Cross announced that the 2015 Salem County Military Service Medal Ceremony will be held on Monday, November 9th.
The Military Service Medal Ceremony is an annual event that is held in the evening around Veterans Day, providing an opportunity for the community to show their appreciation for United States veterans. The ceremony is organized by the County Veterans Office as well as the Board of Chosen Freeholders.
Three US Navy men who participated in the Operation Ivy Atomic Bomb Testing will be honored during the ceremony this year, in addition to the medal recipients.
“We encourage all veterans and residents to attend the Military Service Medal Ceremony and pay tribute to these heroes for their courageous efforts," said Julie Acton, Director. "Our board is privileged to honor the bravery and service of our veterans.”
The ceremony will begin at 6:00 p.m. at the Salem Community College in the Davidow Theater and is open to the public of all ages.
