Literacy Volunteers Training Offered to Adult Learners

BRIDGETON - Cumberland and Salem county adult learners are welcome to attend a Literacy Volunteers tutor training beginning on Wednesday, November 11th. During the sessions, trained tutors will work one-on-one with adult learners who need help reading, writing, or speaking English.
The Gateway Community Action Partnership’s Literacy Services Department will conduct the trainings which will take place from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at PathStone Corporation on 76 West Landis Avenue, Suite C.
Gateway is accredited by Literacy New Jersey and ProLiteracy and has provided literacy services in Cumberland and Salem Counties for 19 years. Trained tutors meet approximately one to two hours per week with learners.
The sessions will be held on the following dates:

  • Wednesday, November 11th

  • Wednesday, November 18th

  • Wednesday, December 2nd

  • Wednesday, December 9th

  • Wednesday, December 16th

Four of the five sessions offered are required in order to become a certified tutor and all sessions are free and open to the public.
