CUMBERLAND COUNTY - Every year the Barbara Cook Cancer Foundation donates money to local cancer organizations.
This year that check totaled $140,000. The three organizations chosen to receive the donation were Inspira Health Network Foundation, the Livestrong Foundation, and the Kennedy Cancer Center, which received $60,000 to support their patient programs.
All of the funds were raised from the Annual Bill Bottino Mud Run and were handed over at Bottino's Shoprite in Vineland.
"Knowing my father would be proud of what we did," said Bill Bottino, President of Barbara Cook Cancer Foundation. "It was a great family event, he was a great family man. So it was - I can honestly say in my heart that we put on a great family event and that would make him proud."
This year marks the 8th year that the Barbara Cook Cancer Foundation has donated proceeds from the run bringing the total amount of donations collectively to over $750,000.
