VIDEO: Law Regulating Sports Betting in New Jersey Proposed

MILLVILLE - The popularity of fantasy sports betting has increased in New Jersey, which has prompted one South Jersey lawmaker to introduce a bill that would regulate daily fantasy sports in the state.
He's putting a state agency widely considered the toughest gambling regulator in the country in charge of it. After conferring with the state gaming enforcement division, second district state Senator Jim Whelan who is a former Atlantic City Mayor, says he'll introduce a bill that would oversee daily fantasy sports play in New Jersey.
His move comes shortly after Governor Christie ridiculed the concept of regulating daily fantasy sports during last week's Republican Presidential Debate. Whelan's drafted legislation argues that daily fantasy sports is a game of skill and not chance.
