VIDEO: Salem Community College Introduces Energy Savings Program to Campus

PENNS GROVE - Salem County College partnered with Schneider Electric for a 5.3 million dollar campus-wide energy efficient project, making them the first college in New Jersey to participate in an initiative like this.
The college held a ceremony to mark the launch of the project, which will be reducing the college's annual energy costs by 42%.
"You know, we’re really proud, and it’s one of those things that we were first, and it’s nice to be first, and it’s nice for us, as a very small college to be able to make this kind of in road and show people what can be done," said Michael Gorman, President.
Some of the changes happening at the college include reconstruction of multiple roofs on campus, brighter lights inside the classrooms as well as on campus, a stronger wireless connection, and better heating and cooling systems, and solar panels that will soon be installed.
