Pennsville Township Historical Society Plans Annual Veterans Day Program

MILLVILLE – The Pennsville Township Historical Society has announced plans for its Annual Veteran’s Day Program on Sunday, November 8th.
The program will be held at the Pennsville Township Senior and Community Center on 69 Spruce Street in Pennsville and will include guest speakers Catherine Antonik and Mike Messick. Antonik served in the Women’s Army Corp as a physical therapy technician in 1949 and was stationed in Yokohama Japan.
Messick served in the Vietnam War from May of 1968 to May of 1969 with Company A, Ist Battalion, and the 27th Infantry (the Wolfhounds) of the 25th Infantry Division as a Combat Infantryman and radioman for the Platoon leader. During his time in the military, Messick reached the rank of Sergeant E-5 and received several honors, including the Combat Infantryman's Badge, the Bronze Star, the Army Commendation Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal, and Vietnam Campaign Medal.
Retired and active service men and women are invited to the program which will begin at 1:00 p.m. Refreshments will be served afterwards.
