VIDEO: CCIA Announces Construction of New Energy Hub

MILLVILLE - The Cumberland County Improvement Authority announced information about a new energy hub that will help make the county a little more green.
The CCIA has partnered with "Constellation Energy," a company based out of Maryland, to build a compressed natural gas (CNG) station in Millville. Constellation Energy has the ability to fund the cost of the entire project, meaning that construction of the project won't cost the county a dime. The new hub will be the first of its kind in the state of New Jersey, bringing reduced emissions, lower car maintenance costs, and better gas to Cumberland County.
"It’s another innovative project that’s being brought," said Joe Derella. "We’re the first, stepping out, outside the box, whatever you want to say. We’re out there creating opportunity. Not just from an economic stand point, but for residents as well."
The new CNG station will be built at the county's solid waste complex on Jesse Bridge Road in Millville. CCIA officials say that they hope to eventually build an additional gas station on the other side of the county.
