Salem County Receives $1 Million to Repair Bridge

SALEM COUNTY – The Transportation Trust Fund will be providing $1,000,000 to replace a bridge in Salem County.
Jesse Bridge, over Muddy Run, received the funding from the Local Bridge Program which is meant to preserve bridges at the local level. The program is part of the Statewide Capital Investment Strategy, making funds available to all 21 counties. Construction of the bridge is estimated for the 2016/2017 time frame.
“This funding will allow the replacement of the Jesse Bridge with no required county match," said stated Ben Laury, Deputy Freeholder Director. We are pleased to have been selected to receive these necessary funds and not increase the burden on our taxpayers."
