Hammonton High School Marching Band Prepares for State Championships

HAMMONTON – The Hammonton High School Marching Band performed their last competition of the season before State and National Championships last Saturday, October 26th.
The band performed their 2015 show, "Break Free of the Blindfold," with music from "The Hope of Spring," led by Band Director, Tim White. The show focuses on homelessness and encourages listeners to help the less fortunate.
Hammonton earned an overall score of 83.200, earning them second place in the IIA division of the USBands Competition circuit. The band competed against West Windsor/Plainsboro High School North and Kingsway High School during their competition. Kingsway High School took first place against the bands, with 87.350 points.
The Blue Devils will compete in the State Championships in Union on Saturday, October 31st and they will compete in the National Championships on Sunday, November 8th.
In an addition, the band is currently selling Cinderella cheesecakes and German chocolate bars in order to raise funds to travel to South Padre Island, Texas in April.
