Cumberland County Code Blue Goes Into EffectPosted:
CUMBERLAND COUNTY - Code Blue will be active for the evenings of Monday, January 4 and Tuesday, January 5, with warming centers open from 6 p.m to 6 a.m.
In the City of Bridgeton, the warming center is located at St. Andrews Episcopal Church, 186 E. Commerce St.; In the City of Vineland the warming center is located at First United Methodist, 700 East Landis Ave., from 6 to 9 p.m. and then overnight hours at the Church of Resurrection at 8th and Wood streets; In the City of Millville the warming center is located at Central Baptist Church at 9 North Second St.
Code Blue goes into effect when temperatures are predicted to be 25 degrees or below with no precipitation for at least two consecutive overnight hours or 32 degrees or below with precipitation for at least two consecutive overnight hours according to Weather.com.
Any changes can be found by visiting codeblueccnj.org or through the e-mail system, text alert system, and robe-call.
Anyone who would like to volunteer at a Code Blue warming center can sign up at codeblueccnj.org. All volunteers (except for meal staff, set-up, clean-up) must sign a waiver of liability/background-check form, as well as view the online volunteer orientation and training.
