VIDEO: Ice-Skating Event Raises Money for Make-a-Wish Foundation

ATLANTIC CITY - South Jersey residents looking to ring in the New Year a little early had the opportunity to go ice skating for a good cause Thursday morning.
Skate For Wishes, an annual event hosted at the Flyers Skate Zone in Atlantic City, raises money for the Make-A-Wish Foundation of New Jersey.
The event took place New Year's Eve —  Thursday, December 31 — from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and gave people the opportunity to not only feel the wintry temperatures for a change, but also grant wishes for children suffering from life-threatening conditions. The event also featured music by Sojo 104.9.
"As for the community, it's really become a tradition," said Katee Blizzard, director of Skate For Wishes. "Word of mouth has really kept it going and building, and it's been really incredible to see it go from just a school project to now becoming a community event."
"I'm horrible at skating, but it's an amazing event, and you'll have fun no matter what your age or skating experience," said Sarah Rodriguez, one of the event volunteers.
