Cumberland County Technical Education Center Student Council Participates in Toy Drive

CUMBERLAND COUNTY – The Cumberland County Technical Education Center’s (CCTEC) Student Council partnered with the Bridgeton Salvation Army to hold the fifth annual Angel Tree Toy Drive.
Over 100 toys were donated for the event including bicycles, board games, art, supplies, and clothing which will be given to children in need. Students and staff from CCTEC helped collect the gifts which were then accepted by commanding officer of the Bridgeton Salvation Army, Lieutenant Sergo Lalanne, on behalf of the organization.
“I have seven brothers and I see how fortunate they are to have presents to open,” said Rayshawn Blakely, Junior Student Council Member in Sports Medicine. “When I see kids without that kind of fortune, I like to help them out. It’s important to me. I’m very happy I was able to participate in the toy drive this year.”
