VIDEO: Flight Simulator Offers Gift Certificates for Holiday Gifts

ATLANTIC COUNTY - Many are looking for the perfect gift idea for the holidays. Give the gift of flight.
This flight simulator is called the Red Bird MX2 and it’s a part of Atlantic Cape Community College’s Aviation Studies program.
“So they get the experience of what it’s actually like to fly a plane,” said Elmer Godeny, Dean of Stem Programs at Atlantic Cape Community College.
It’s an FAA approved flight simulator that resides right at the Atlantic City Airport. You do not have to be in the program to take a practice flight in this simulator.
“It’s a gift certificate; $90 per hour in the Red Bird Simulator," said Godeny. "It includes anything they want to do for training.”
And for the entire hour you’ll have pilot and adjunct professor Tim Cwik helping you along the way.
“You can start on the ground at an airport and you can take off and fly somewhere else so you can practice navigating," said Cwik. "You can practice flying straight and level turns. You can practice various things looking at the ground so you can follow a road.”
SNJ Today Reporter, Kimberly Kerr tried it herself. She said at first it was a walk in the park, until it came time to land.
There are only two requirements to fly on the Red Bird, you must be 13 or older and have a photo ID. To get a gift certificate contact Jennie Ayres at 609.343.5039.
