Bells Elementary School Chess Club Participates in Princeton Chess Championship

WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP – Bells Elementary School students competed at the Princeton Chess Championship on Saturday, December 12th and Sunday, December 13th with club advisor, Mr. James Cho.
The students competed in a Swiss-style tournament, earning first place in the Novice One section. During the tournament, students played four matches regardless of the outcome, against students within their Division across New Jersey. Several Bells students stood out during the tournament, including Aidan Zukovsky who placed first overall, Evan LeComte who placed fourth overall, and Brodie Colandro who placed eighth overall.

Students from Bells Elementary who participated in the tournament include third-graders Matt Rodia and Aidan LeComte; fourth-graders John DiNoto, Kristina Hagerty, Brodie Colandro, Khang Nguyen, Erin Murray, and Jake Metviner; and fifth-graders Billy Hagerty, Evan LeComte, Tyler Vena, Jonathan Skinner, and Aidan Zukovsky.
