VIDEO: Cancer Patients May Be Able to Use Old Photos for Driver's License
MILLVILLE - New Jersey residents who have lost their hair to cancer may soon be allowed to use old pictures of themselves on their driver's licenses. Under the bill approved today by the State Assembly Transportation Committee, New Jersey residents undergoing medical care for an illness that changes their appearance, could extend the use of pre-treatment photos on their driver's licenses. The bill comes after the story of Joanne Jodry in October. The State Motor Vehicle Commission would not let Jodry, who lost her hair after undergoing chemotherapy, use an old driver's license photo showing her with long hair. A motor vehicle spokeswoman said the agency was bound to comply with state law, which requires a new picture every eight years.
