GLASSBORO - Henry Rowan, the namesake of Rowan University, died last night. Rowan was an engineer who founded Inductotherm, a company that made industrial furnaces. He took his success in the business world and used it to help aspiring New Jersey engineers when he pledged a $100 million dollar donation to what was then called Glassboro State College to establish an engineering school in 1992. The school changed its name in Rowan's honor shortly after. Rowan was 92-years-old.
