The Association of Fundraising Professionals Recognizes Outstanding Philanthropist

MARGATE – The Association of Fundraising Professionals NJ, Southern Chapter named its Outstanding Philanthropist.
Previous President of the Jewish Family Service, Mitchell Gurwicz, received the honor during a National Philanthropy Day breakfast. The JFS is a multi-service family counseling agency dedicated to promoting, strengthening and preserving individual, family, and community well-being in a manner consistent with Jewish philosophy and values. The pantry distributes over 30,000 pounds of food to more than 2,000 local individuals and families each year by collecting non-perishable and monetary donations throughout the year.
Gurwicz has shown support for the organization for nearly two decades, including monetary support through donations. Some of Gurwicz’s contributions include a donated refrigerator for Kosher-Meals-on-Wheels, his expertise and contacts to assist with the organizations finances and savings, and assistance in securing rental space for homeless or at-risk clients.
“I want to thank JFS for nominating me for this award, I am very honored to be recognized,” said Mitchell Gurwicz. “This award is extra special because it came in large part through my involvement with JFS, the most amazing agency I have ever had the privilege to be associated with.”
