Food Truck Festival to Debut this Summer in Atlantic City

ATLANTIC CITY - The first-ever Atlantic City Food Truck Festival will be coming to Brighton Park in Atlantic City (in front of The Claridge, off the Boardwalk) Saturday, June 18 (Noon-8 p.m.) and Sunday, June 19 (Noon-6 p.m.).
A variety of food trucks will serve different fare at the festival, which also includes a competition. There promises to be classic American food, seafood, barbecue, desserts and more options for visitors to sink their teeth into.  After they try food from the different trucks, visitors will be able to pick their favorite food truck and vote for the first-ever Atlantic City Food Truck Festival Champion before they leave.
The winning truck team will get to take home $500 and a trophy at the end of the weekend.
While the event is free to view, there will be a charge for all food and vendor items. Attendees will be able to buy tickets from marked ticket booths around the park in order to buy the food, as the food trucks will not be handling money. Each ticket will be worth $1 each, and every food item will be rounded to the nearest dollar amount for people to buy.
Organizers say the event will be “family friendly” and will include a Kid Zone where there will be rides, arts and crafts, and kid-friendly food vendors serving chicken nuggets, hot dogs, French fries and carnival sweets. The area will also utilize a ticket system for the kids to be able to play and do all the different activities.
In addition, the Festival will include live music and an outdoor wines, beer and spirits garden. There will also be assorted non-food-item vendors, such as craft or business vendors.
Applications are still open for food truck and other vendors to be a part of the event. To apply or find out more about the event, prospective vendors and visitors can go to ACFoodTruckFest.com.
The Atlantic City Food Truck Festival is the first of many events that are being planned by 609 Event Productions and the Claridge Hotel Atlantic City for the summer and fall months in the resort.
