SNJ Today, a Millville-based multimedia company, recently received recognition from industry leaders and professionals in both a digital publication and at a national conference.
At an annual conference held last week in New York, SNJ Today company President and Founder Ken Pustizzi presented to more than 500 industry leaders at what is considered the largest gathering of digital media leaders and executives. Attendees include CEO’s and officers from companies such as Nielsen, CBS, NBC, Bing, Townsquare Media, Nexstar, Gannett and Cox Media.
Advertising industry leader Gordon Borrell who is the founder and CEO of Borrell Associates, a media and advertising consulting firm that hosts the Local Online Advertising Conference each year, selected Pustizzi to be one of the program’s speakers.
The event’s agenda focused on “The Future of Local Media.” Pustizzi’s portion of the program was titled “Building the Media Company of the Future From Scratch” during which he described his company’s advancements before the national group. He said during his remarks, “I saw the opportunity to buy a local AM radio station as a platform or runway on which to build a digital media company to both help small businesses tell their story and be a positive influence in my community.”
Pustizzi told attendees about the companies that fall under the SNJ Today umbrella including SNJ Today which offers local news and entertainment on Comcast Channel 22 in Cumberland County and weeknight newscasts to nearly 3 million households in the greater Delaware Valley. The company also provides on demand programming on www.snjtoday.com, music and local news and weather on WSNJ 1240 AM radio and operates The Grapevine newspaper with a circulation of 20,000 in the Cumberland County area.
He talked about ClearBridge Marketing Consulting which is SNJ Today’s full service marketing services company offering clients a wide array of new and traditional marketing services and Glasstown Productions which provides storyboarding, video recording, editing and equipment and studio rentals. Pustizzi explained how the companies work in tandem on projects that assist small businesses. “We are trying to fill the marketing services void that seems to exist for business owners and leaders who are so focused on operating their business, they lack the resources to market it,” Pustizzi said in his conference address.
Borrell introduced Pustizzi noting, “He set up shop in a small town in southern New Jersey, pieced together a marketing agency, and acquired key analog-media assets to complement it.”
Prior to the event, Local Media Today, an electronic newsletter distributed to more than 4,000 media professionals globally, recognized SNJ Today in an article titled Formula for Success: Filling Rodeo Seats. In the article authored by industry leader Borrell, SNJ Today is cited as an organization building “the media company of the future.”
Pustizzi summarized about the recent acknowledgements for his company, “We’re extremely happy to receive this kind of attention which was prompted by Gordon Borrell’s visit to our offices last year.” He added, “I had no idea that his interest in what we’re doing here would result in this kind of attention. We’re just trying to reach our vision to be the leader in telling innovative and positive stories.” ”
Also attending the Local Online Advertising Conference on behalf of the company were SNJ Today Chief Operating and Financial Officer Frank DiMauro, Jr. and Kevin Pustizzi, Vice President of ClearBridge Media Consulting.
