VIDEO : Woman in Critical Condition After Being Rescued in Atlantic City
ATLANTIC CITY - A 21-year-old woman is now in critical condition after emergency crews rescued her out of the water near a jetty in Atlantic City. Authorities say on Monday, at about 6:10 p.m., they received calls of a woman drowning at the Rhode Island Beach, which was unguarded by lifeguards at the time of the incident. Rescue teams were deployed on jet skis, and after 10 minutes of searching, they found the woman unconscious. Officials say they then brought her ashore where they performed CPR before she was transferred to Atlantic Care Regional Medical Center. Authorities also add that in an attempt to look for the unconscious woman, the victim's sister broke her leg on the jetty.
