VIDEO : Ammonia Successfully Removed from Ice House

VINELAND - Vineland residents can now return safely to their homes after some had to evacuate earlier this week due to a potential ammonia leak from the Vineland's Ice and Cold Storage refrigeration system.
The Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA) refrigeration contractor has confirmed that the liquid ammonia was successfully removed as of Friday, eliminating any immediate threat to the public.
After Friday's liquid removal, the ammonia may give off a strong odor to residents nearby, but it should not be a health concern to residents.
No further evacuations are expected, and the EPA will continue its air detection, monitoring for any signs of risk for the community.
