VIDEO : Funding Offered to Churches to Host Cooling Center
NEW JERSEY - As temperatures rise, an initiative is helping churches and nonprofits keep their community members cool. The president of the M25 Initiative announced today that emergency funding will be available for churches and nonprofits who agree to serve as a cooling center during the upcoming heat wave. Many in the area can expect temperatures to be near the three digit mark from July 23rd through Tuesday, July 26th. This will not only make it uncomfortable to be outside but can also create health concerns. This emergency funding will provide churches with financial resources and those eligible will receive reimbursement of up to $5 dollars per hour from 8 a.m. until 8 p.m. To find a cooling center near you, or for more information on how to donate visit www.M25initiative.org.
